Placing the Google Adsense blocks

September 17th, 2006

Are your Google Adsense sites optimized to attract the most clicks on your Adsense? As I mentioned earlier on, the more Google Adsense sites you have, the more profits you are likely going to have. One of your websites may hit a home run – you never know. One of the techniques I advise you to use on your Google Adsense sites is to put a 250×250 Adsense block in the horizontal center of your page. Make this appear high up on your webpage and make it visible without the need to scroll down (above the fold). Then hide the border of the Adsense. By hiding, I mean change it to the colour which matches the background of your website. This will make it look less like a Google Adsense site and visitors will more likely click on it.

Making the ads look like an integral part of your Google Adsense sites is important. Though the visitors find the ads description useful, they won’t click on them because they look like ads. The people now just hate to be sold.

Therefore make sure the color scheme for your ads in the same as your website. Always remember Google’s TOS (Terms of service) – you can only place 3 ads on one page.

The design of my Google Adsense sites are normally one in the top middle of the page above the fold, a left side skyscraper, and another skyscraper in the middle of the article. If it’s a blog, I’ll place it as a banner at the bottom of the page.

But don’t take my word for it. Test it yourself J

Once you know what your Google Adsense sites topic will be about you can start to explore the keywords used and also create original articles – note the word original. This is because Google loves fresh content. If your articles are the same old stuff found everywhere, Google will not place that much of an importance on your website.

Once the keywords are chosen and the articles are written in advance, you can create the Google Adsense sites.

However, since it is a new website, we are creating, there is no need to add Adsense to the webpages. Do you understand? Makes sense right?

When the website has a decent traffic and is relatively stable, you can then start to think about placing Adsense on the website. Once you have placed the Adsense on the pages, you can then monitor the traffic and study the CTR (click through rate).

If your Google Adsense sites have Adsense on them, a tracking system should be in place to monitor the traffic. If  2% of  your visitors click on your Adsense, then you should alter the Adsense appearance and location to improve the CTR. Considering this is where the money is. Once you have made a minor change, monitor your CTR again and see if it has improved. This is a continuous process. You should make sure you are not wasting the traffic to your website.

Google Adsense Sites - An online business

September 15th, 2006

Google Adsense is the one of the hottest topics during the past 2 years. Online internet marketers have been building Google Adsense sites offering useful content on a particular niche and theme and then place adsense ads next to them.

Google Adsense is surely a very good online business to go into. John Reese, one of the most famous internet marketers has originally coined the phrase Virtual Real Estate (VRE) and has fully endorsed this method of helping the community and making money online. Two birds with one stone.

The key to building such websites is to offer valuable content to the readers. Since the person visiting your Google Adsense sites are attracted by the useful content, they will take time reading it. The Google Adsense on the side or somewhere in the middle of the content will be related to the article they are reading. Thus the likely hood of them clicking on it is high.

There are several methods you can use to create the websites. You should aim for software which can build a website quickly and lets you have the option of adding Google Adsense to your website. Remember, you may be able to make $2 per day with a website. This adds up to $30 a month. Imagine if you have a lot of these websites? Do the maths yourself and then understand why so many people are working on building informative Google Adsense sites.
