Cover up your Adsense appearance

September 17th, 2006

Once you have created your website with keyword rich articles on them, the next step is to place Adsense on them after you have good traffic to your website. However, you have to consider the Google Adsense layouts to maximize your profits. Just because people see Adsense on your website does not mean, they need to click on them.

By the way, don’t you hate clicking on things that you know are adverts? It’s human nature and we are now so bombarded with ads that the thought of us being sold something is a big turn off. So with your Adsense on your website, try and not make them seem like an advert and scream “Click on me please.”

There are several tips which you should notice when placing Adsense on the websites. One of these is the placement. You need to place the Adsense on the website where it is not hidden but somewhere obtrusive.

One of the best places is near the top of the website where the user does not need to scroll down to see it. If you have a blog, you would place the Adsense right at the top of the webpage rather than further down where the reader will have to scroll. This place is called “the fold”. It is basically the part of the website which is visible without scrolling.

Where not to advertise Google Adsense?

September 16th, 2006

There is no reason not to place the profit making Google Adsense layouts on your websites. I mean why not make money while the visitors are on your website?

This could be true but there is a feature of Google Adsense which is disadvantageous to the website owner. The visitor will leave your website once they click on the Adsense.

It would be better if the new website appeared as a pop up or a pop under. However, if someone clicked on my adverts which I spent money on advertising then I would like my website to be as obtrusive as possible. Google is intelligent.

I love placing Adsense on my websites and watch the dollars rolling in gradually every month. However there is a certain website which I NEVER place any Google Adsense layouts on. And they are….

Sales page websites.

Actually, apart from the order link, I always try not to place any other links on the sales page. The reason is that I don’t want the user ever to leave my website. I want them to have no distractions and concentrate on my sales page. After all, I only have one aim and that is to persuade them to buy.
