A beginner’s guide to Google Adsense will not be complete without knowing what the various sizes are available for your Adsense.
 
The Adsense ad units come in a variety of sizes. You will see these terms mentioned a lot in forums or in guides. Here is a list of them.
 
Leaderboard
This is horizontal and contains around 3 or more Adsense ads across the unit. Leaderboards are generally very eye catching and should be placed near the top of your website and/or near the bottom of your website. These ads go across the screen so it attracts the visitor’s eye.
 
Banner
These are like Leaderboard ads but you can limit them to 2 Adsense ads. These can be placed in the middle of your content which catches the visitor’s attention when they are reading your content.
 
Skyscraper
These are like the Adwords which appear on the right hand side of Google’s search results. They are normally placed on the left or right hand side of the webpage. It is a good idea to have some navigational menus on the side of your webpage and then to place a skyscraper Adsense below it.
